This term we have had our very own class pets. First we were joined in class by some very hungry caterpillars. We looked after them from tiny caterpillars into beautiful butterflies. We learnt all about their life cycle and we were amazed when we saw them spin their cocoons. We were sad to release them but we really enjoyed having them in our class for three weeks. As well as having butterflies as pets we have also received 2 stick insets that we named ‘Zac Flash and Tickle’ we look after them daily by giving him new plants and spraying them with water. Now they are older we can take them out of the tanks and hold them very carefully. We have been busy keeping a diary on how much Zac Flash and Tickle are growing and we have noticed that he is growing 2-3 centimetres a week.
