    Shwmae!

Welcome to the Year 2/3 class page! Here you can find all the important information needed in Year 2/3 throughout the year.

Mr Wilson teaches the class on Monday and Tuesday

Mrs Lockley-Carter (Mrs Lockley is fine!) teaches the class on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Miss Dando is the class TA, she is in every day.

    Weekly Routine

Mondays - the children will have their spelling tests; a new set of spellings will be sent home to be practiced and learnt for the following Monday. The children have violin lessons with Mrs Holt in the afternoon.

Thursdays - PPA in the afternoon so the children will have alternating weeks of forest school with Mrs Santimano and PE/ICT with Mr Beynon.

Fridays - fortnightly maths homework sent out, to be completed and returned to school by the following Friday.

    Reminders

Please label everything that comes to school with your child! This includes clothing, water bottles, lunch boxes, bags, snack boxes - the list goes on!

School uniform is to be worn every day except for Thursdays when the children have forest school or PE. Please ensure children dress appropriately for forest school and PE - the children will go out in all weather (except stormy and high winds) so please wear warm clothes that you don't mind getting messy. Mrs Santimano has waterproof trousers but you may provide some for your child if you wish. As the weather gets more cold, please ensure your child has a warm coat - a hat and gloves might also be useful.

For PE the children wear a PE kit which consists of a white t-shirt and black shorts/leggings/joggers and trainers.

Reading books and reading records need to be brought in every day - the children don't have set reading days. Please help us understand how your child is getting on with their reading at home by filling in the reading record.

    Class Set-Up

In the mornings the children will have their CORE learning time. During this the children will work on their literacy and numeracy skills, and will apply them to their topic work. This will consist of both practical and written work that will take place with Mr Wilson/Mrs Lockley or Miss Dando. Before lunch, the children will split into their Monster Phonics/Superhero Spelling groups to practice and learn their sounds and spellings.
