  • Sport Relief

    Thu 12 Mar 2020

    t’s that time again!
On Friday 13rd March, the whole nation will be supporting ‘Sport Relief’ and Pontarddulais Primary School is no different!
Pontarddulais Primary School is as ever keen to support National causes and we have decided to celebrate ‘Sport Relief’ in style!
We would like the children to donate £1 and wear clothes that they can ‘dance’ in on the day. How about headbands, wrist bands or leg warmers?

    The brighter the better!

We want everyone ready, willing and able to take on the... ‘Dance Challenge!’
We are looking forward to ‘getting our groove on’ and ‘dancing ourselves dizzy’!
As ever, we rely on your continued support to highlight these initiatives and are extremely grateful for your generosity.
    Many Thanks,
    All staff

  • Junior Parkrun

    Thu 12 Mar 2020

As you may or may not be aware, a new Junior Parkrun has just started in Swansea called the Swansea Prom Junior Parkrun and is ideal for children of primary school age to get more active, hence our email to your school.

The Junior parkrun is specifically for children 4 to 14 years, and is held every week at 9am Sunday morning, by the old Café 360 (i.e. Secret café) by St. Helens rugby ground in Swansea.

The junior parkrun in Swansea is a marshalled 2k distance (2 laps of 1k), so your pupils can do it on their own or joined by their parent(s) or guardian(s). It is also accessible to all, as it is a flat hard footpath. We also hope to ask at future events which schools the children are coming from and publish each week.

In order to further raise the profile of the event, the Swansea Junior Parkrun team would therefore be grateful if you could communicate this message to your parents and pupils via social media or newsletter in a similar content style to below

“Swansea Bay Junior Parkrun : 9am Each Sunday – Cafe360, St Helens (4 to 4 years welcome and volunteers)

For Pupils: Just register in advance with a Parkrun barcode and then turn up at 8:50 for the 9am start.
For Everyone else: Volunteering help from any Adults or young adults are also
welcome. So If you would like to volunteer, please email swanseaprom- juniors@parkrun.com and let them know which dates you can help out, as there are a variety of roles to assist with on the day.

For more information on Swansea Junior Parkrun please see. https://www.parkrun.org.uk/swanseaprom-juniors/

Thanks you for your anticipated cooperation in this matter, and we look forward to seeing your pupils at future events. Any further questions, please drop us an email.

    Thanks again

  • Coronavirus

    Thu 05 Mar 2020

As you will likely be aware, a confirmed case of Coronavirus has occurred in Swansea, the person concerned is receiving care and self-isolated immediately on becoming symptomatic.

I would like to reassure you the case is not in relation to a pupil in any school in Swansea or any organised school trips. Our school is receiving regular updates from Swansea Council who are working in partnership with their colleagues in Health.

They have assured us that the risk remains low and no additional measures need to be taken above the advice already provided by Public Health Wales.

If you need any further information please go to www.phw.nhs.wales/coronavirus. We will update you all as needed, but please be assured that there is no need for concern.
