Sport-Key Stage 2
Mon 22 May 2017Children are continually being made aware of the benefits of exercise and are being given opportunities to apply the skills they have acquired across the Physical Education curriculum in activities such as Gymnastics, Games and Athletics. The focus this term has been on striking games and athletics particularly. There remains a larger number of extra curricular activities available to the pupils in the Key Stage because of the dedication of all staff involved… -
Athletics
Mon 22 May 2017In the Area Sports competition, the school has had a very successful season with nine individual representatives making the final. Further success in the final at the end of the term will mean these individuals going on to represent West Glamorgan in the Inter County Championships, in July. Mrs. Parry remains instrumental to all of the successes in this area. The squad also performed admirably in the annual carnival sports competition. -
Rugby
Mon 22 May 2017Mr. Jones has worked very hard to put together a team this term, that was successful in the majority of the matches in which they played in the annual Ray Beech tournament. As ever, Mr. Jones ensured that the tournament was a fantastic success again this year; it was well attended by schools from across the county and a good day was had by all. -
Football
Mon 22 May 2017The after school football club remains popular with Year 5 and 6, thanks to the tireless work, commitment and knowledge of Miss Kelly Roberts and Mr. Joel Beynon. The squads have competed in a number of different tournaments across the school calendar year and again this term, with a reasonable level of success. Both squads hope to take this success into the Carnival Sports Football Tournament, later on this month.
Player development continues to be a focus within the Year Four after school football club, which continues to be run enthusiastically by Mr. Morgan
