Ethical Team 2024-2025

Pontarddulais Primary Ethical Team 2024 - 2025

We undertook speeches and voting early in the Autumn term to elect our ‘Ethical team’.

The Ethical team has many different ‘Roles and Responsibilities’ which cover:

• Eco schools – monitoring energy usage in the school, reducing, recycling, re-using and water usage. Our new action is to monitor and be responsible for ‘Food waste’ bins in the school. This will be our Case study for our ‘Platinum flag re-assessment in the Spring/Summer term
• Energy Sparks – We analyse the data linked to our Gas and Electricity usage in school. We will also work with the Energy Sparks team in the Summer term and engage in activities linked
• Healthy Schools - Health, Well-being, Growth mind-set and ‘Healthy Schools’ actions remain at the heart of everything our Ethical team do.
• We will be planning and implementing a ‘Toy drive’ to donate to local Charity shops to help with donations of toys before Christmas
• We and our School council will link with our local Food bank and ensure we drive initiatives for donations at key points during the year. We’ve already completed our 1^st ‘DONATION DRIVE’

Our Ethical team liaise closely with the School council when the school are planning ‘Charity events’ and we undertake regular meetings to ensure all of the pupils’ voices in the school are heard.

We will be updating the whole school regularly in assemblies as to the IMPACT of our actions. Action plans have been created for the term and the group are responsible for updating their ‘TEAMS page outlining all of their actions and impact throughout the year.

• Rights Respecting – ensuring Rights are at the heart of everything we do as a school
• Healthy Schools - Health, Well-being, Growth mind-set and ‘Healthy Schools’ actions remain at the heart of everything our Ethical team do.
