Reminders
- Please label everything that comes to school with your child! This includes clothing, water bottles, lunch boxes, bags, snack boxes etc
- Reading books and reading records need to be brought in every day, the children don't have set reading days. Please help us understand how your child is getting on with their reading at home by filling in the reading record.
- School uniform is to be worn every day except for Thursdays when the children have forest school or PE.
What to wear for Forest School
Please ensure children dress appropriately for forest school and PE - the children will go out in all weather (except stormy and high winds) so please wear warm clothes that you don't mind getting messy. Mrs Santimano has waterproof trousers but you may provide some for your child if you wish. As the weather gets colder, please ensure your child has a warm coat, a hat and gloves might also be useful.
What to wear for PE
For PE the children wear a PE kit which consists of a white t-shirt and black shorts/leggings/joggers and trainers.
Class Organisation
In the mornings, the children will take part in their CORE learning sessions. During this time, they will develop their literacy and numeracy skills and apply them across their topic work. Learning will include a variety of practical, collaborative and written activities to support understanding and progress. Before lunch, the children will work in their Monster Phonics or Superhero Spelling groups, where they will practise and develop their phonics, spelling and reading skills.
Our EPIC (Explore, Play, Investigate and Create) sessions are an important part of the school day. These sessions provide opportunities for children to follow their curiosity, ask questions, explore new ideas and learn through meaningful, hands-on experiences. Through play, investigation and creative challenges, children will develop their enquiry skills, problem-solving abilities, critical thinking, independence and teamwork. EPIC learning encourages children to be ambitious, confident and imaginative learners who can make connections and apply their knowledge in a range of real-life contexts.
